Professor Martin Fautley
Emeritus Professor of Music Education,
Birmingham City University
Martin has a wealth of experience in music education, both in pedagogy and research. He was a schoolteacher for many years, subsequently researching teaching, learning and assessment of classroom music. In 2024, Martin received the prestigious ISM Distinguished Musician Award, and in 2025 the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Music & Drama Education Awards.
