After clarinet studies at the Royal Northern College of Music and Royal Academy of Music, Michael has established a diverse portfolio career as a performer, teacher, editor, writer and consultant. He was previously editor of Clarinet & Saxophone magazine and has contributed articles and reviews to Music Teacher, Classical Music, Musical Opinion and Highnotes, among others. His teaching experience spans primary, secondary and adult education, and he has performed professionally in ensembles ranging from symphony orchestras to Balkan bands. He has also assisted organisations across the arts sector with strategy, events, communications and public relations.
