Caro Cooke - Music Education Council

Caro Cooke

Treasurer-Trustee, Music Education Council

Caro is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and arts administrator with experience in promoting inclusivity and accessibility in the music industry. Based in London, they specialise in DJing, music production, and advocacy, with a focus on women, trans and disabled communities.

Caro has recently collaborated on a research project with Birmingham University, Drake Music, and Native Instruments, focusing on accessibility in DJing for disabled artists. They have presented their research and participated in panels at major events such as the Brighton Music Conference, Humboldt University Berlin, and Drake Music Labs, contributing to important conversations about inclusion in the arts.

In addition to their advocacy work, Caro has delivered DJ and music production lessons to diverse groups in schools and community settings. They have also developed inclusive events such as open deck nights, supporting marginalised genders in pursuing careers in music. Their DJ work, including a residency at Aaja Radio, has been recognised in DJ Mag, where they shared their insights as a neurodivergent artist.
