Aleks Szram was born in Southampton to Polish parents and has been involved in a very wide range of musical activities throughout his life. As a pianist, he has performed across the UK and around the world, often as a chamber musician and in collaboration with composers. He has recorded albums for labels including Prima Facie, Metier and Nimbus, and has published journal articles and a book chapter on critical pedagogy and blended learning environments. He is Artistic Director at Trinity Laban, a QAA performing arts specialist assessor, and a member of the international think-thank Musicum20. He is a fierce advocate for the importance of music in all conceivable contexts of life.
