To speak or not to speak: gesticulation through the language barrier

23 Feb 2024
The Space
SEND/Inclusion , Secondary Drama , Instrumental/Vocal Teachers , Primary , Leader/Hub/Administration

Everyone uses meaningful and distinguished hand gestures when speaking. We can’t not gesture when we want to express something verbally. Through playful speaking and movement exercises, participants will learn to use their observation skills to recognise specific speech gestures when teaching languages. This awareness is helpful across the curriculum as all teachers are language teachers.

Speakers
Erick Aufderheyde, Theatre Director, Dramaturg, Acting Coach, Drama and English Teacher MYP-DP
