What are the main difficulties encountered in sight-singing and how can they be overcome?

This session will run through the initial concepts of sight-singing, showing delegates how to build up their students skills and confidence and identifying the key areas where many students struggle. It will also demonstrate the benefits of internalised sight-singing and its role in learning an instrument, sight-reading, aural and theory, as well as providing practical examples for teachers to take back into their lessons.

  • Feel confident in providing effective teaching of sight-singing for students from beginner to advanced, or for their choir
  • Be provided with an array of new ideas/exercises which have proved effective in practice
