Music & Drama Education Expo | Manchester 2019

The Advisory Board for Music & Drama Eductation Expo play a vital role in selecting a beneficial programme. After selecting a draft Conference Programme, Cameron and Sarah request feedback and ideas from the specialist Advisory Board in advance of the call for papers deadline. They advise on any sessions they feel have been missing in previous years; what they’d like to see more of and plugging gaps in current service/department provision.

Peter Deam, Head of performing arts, Bishop David Brown School, Woking

Peter is Head of Performing Arts at Bishop David Brown School in Woking. He studied BA Hons Drama, Film & Television Studies at University of Wales, Aberystwyth and completed a PGCE Drama at the University of Reading. He has been teaching secondary school Drama for 11 years, previously teaching at schools in Newbury, Wimbledon and Orlando, Florida. Peter has a firm interest in developing Drama pedagogy across all education sectors and helping to nurture and develop new and existing teachers to the rigours of the profession.

Wyn Richards, AS and A-Level Drama lecturer, Curriculum Leader, Gower College Swansea

With 19 years’ teaching experience, Wyn Richards is an AS and A-Level Drama lecturer, and Curriculum Leader of the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts (Acting) at Gower College Swansea. He is a LAMDA examiner, and an advisory panellist for new anthology entries for ‘Verse and Prose’ examinations. He was a nominee of ‘The Guardian Award for Teacher of the Year in a Secondary School (South England), 2007/08, and twice nominated in 2011/12. He was a Drama advisor for London’s Music and Drama Expo in 2019.
