Music & Drama Education Expo | Manchester 2019

The Advisory Board for Music & Drama Eductation Expo play a vital role in selecting a beneficial programme. After selecting a draft Conference Programme, Cameron and Sarah request feedback and ideas from the specialist Advisory Board in advance of the call for papers deadline. They advise on any sessions they feel have been missing in previous years; what they’d like to see more of and plugging gaps in current service/department provision.

Alison Warren, Subject leader for Drama, Clarendon Academy

I am a secondary Drama teacher with over 30 years teaching experience, working mainly in Wiltshire. I have been an AST and Teacher in residence at Salisbury Playhouse and am currently one of NO NONSENSE DRAMA who were recently finalists in the Music and Drama Education Awards 2020. I hold an MA in Drama in Education and support the PGCE course at Bath Spa University. I am contributor to DRAMA AND THEATRE magazine. I am married – another long term experience! - and live in a small terraced house with my husband, one black cat and a surprising amount of books.

Naomi Kayayan, Pianist, teacher and researcher

Naomi has over 20 years of experience teaching in settings from primary schools through to conservatoires. She teaches at the Junior Department of the RNCM, examines for ABRSM and is a lecturer on the ESTA Education PGCert in Instrumental Teaching. Naomi has taught and given presentations on music education and piano teaching all over the world. She has recently returned to the UK to begin a PhD at the RNCM after spending 2 years as Head of Keyboard and Director of Music at a British International School in China. Her current project ‘El Pianista Peregrina’ is a musical documentary of the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela which is being recorded during 2020-2021.

Wyn Richards, UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Performance, Curriculum Leader, Gower College Swansea

With 20 years’ teaching experience in the secondary sector, Wyn Richards is now an AS and A-Level Drama lecturer, and Curriculum Leader of the UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Performance at Gower College Swansea. He is a LAMDA examiner, and was an advisory panellist for new anthology entries for ‘Verse and Prose’ examinations. He is a 3 times nominee of ‘The Guardian Award for Teacher of the Year in a Secondary School (South England). He was also a Drama advisor for London’s Music and Drama Expo in 2019.
