Gifted and talented are dangerous words

In this thought-provoking session, these ‘dangerous’ words will be redefined, showing the opportunities we all have to reach our potential.

By the end of the session, the participant should be able to:

  • Workshop effective and appropriate definitions of the words ‘gifted’ and ‘talented’ and discuss ways to convey these to parents so that these labels are not perpetuated
  • Understand the impact of labels on students and learn how to avoid labelling
  • Immerse themselves in both fixed and growth mindsets in order to understand their impact on learning
  • Learn ways to inspire reluctant or demotivated students and to recreate and re-mold their mindset

Suitable for Key Stages 1-5.
