Music industry, education and progression

Keeping music education alive in primary and secondary schools is vital to support the talent pipeline. However, with ever increasing funding cuts and non-compulsory qualifications it is difficult to apply standard educational practices. This session will use data and figures to unpick how much the music industry contributes to the economy, asking why, how and where we can promote the positivity and growth in the sector despite the current educational landscape. It will also share some important research which has been completed in collaboration with UK Music, outlining opportunities available within the music performance and production industry.

Speakers
