Sharing Lab

You said you wanted more networking opportunities, and we listened! Announcing the return of the TeachMeet.

Music & Drama Education Expo are excited to announce the launch of a new zone – The Sharing Lab – which will further augment our content offering in 2017.

The Sharing Lab will host a number of informal Sharing Lab and TeachMeet sessions which puts peer-to-peer learning and support at the heart of its approach; and everyone’s invited to contribute!

Our conference programme brings some of the most high profile international pedagogues to the Expo stage, but let’s not forget that we are the brightest minds in arts education all in one room, and our delegates have a number of skills and expertise to offer, too. We’ve selected the topics, now you can have a bearing on the content. We want YOU to book in as presenters at these sessions, and to bring along resources and ideas ready to bash out with other delegates.

Our aim is to get you chatting, fired up on new ideas and excited to share what’s working well in your teaching practice, and to discuss all of this in the company of like-minded practitioners. Take away an idea, a new business contact, a new friend or a new resource. No matter what, we know you’ll find these sessions useful!

Join our TeachMeet and observe or present (how involved you get is up to you) in a series of short, pacey, ten minute seminars on a specially curated topic. Anyone can join in, as long as you’re a teacher or practitioner. So if you have a neat idea, some best practice you’re dying to share, personal insights or a practical innovation on one of the below subjects, book into one of our presentation slots and come along ready to contribute!

You don’t have to present though. Feel free to show up, observe and take away ideas!

*Please note that space at these sessions will be limited and only presenters are guaranteed a seat; all observer places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Choose your teach meet
  • Come up with a ten minute presentation**

**or decide you just want to observe and turn up on the day!

Sharing Lab

Our expert hosts will introduce one of their specialist topics before welcoming like-minded practitioners to the sharing lab table to demonstrate resources along the same theme, and – you’ve guessed it – share ideas! More informal than our teach-meets, the sharing lab is all about peer-to-peer discussion. Think “show and tells” of your childhood and you’re on the right track!

*Please note that space at these sessions will be limited and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Choose your Sharing Lab
  • See if you have any ideas or resources you can bring to the table
  • Let your colleagues and professional network know you’re attending and invite them to participate
